Babara Streeter Hanna Perkins TherapistBarbara Streeter, M.S., LPCC, Child & Adolescent Psychoanalyst, is Consulting Therapist at Hanna Perkins School; and Faculty Chair of the Cleveland Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Training Program.

She has a B.A. in Human Studies from Brown University and a masters’ degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Bank Street College, NYC. She obtained her training in child therapy at the Cleveland Center for Research in Child Development, which was affiliated with Hanna Perkins. She is certified by the American Board of Psychoanalysis.

Streeter has over 40 years of experience working as a therapist with children and adolescents, and consulting with parents of young children. She started her career as a teacher in the Hanna Perkins School and then, while pursuing her training as a child psychoanalyst, worked as a teacher on the children’s in-patient psychiatric unit at University Hospitals.

She went on to become director of the Hanna Perkins Extension Division, where she coordinated programs for early childhood professionals, served as an instructor and consultant for early childhood caregivers, and led a national Child Care Consultation Project. From 2009-2020, she served as the Education & Therapy Director at Hanna Perkins School.

Streeter is president of the Association for Psychoanalytic Schools, Treasurer-Elect of the Association for Child Psychoanalysis, and on the Board of the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center.
