Children don’t come with an instruction manual, and most parents experience occasions when they simply don’t know what to do next.

We support parents by providing opportunities to learn more about the critical stages of development that occur during a child’s early years; and we provide tools to help parents work through these important challenges with their children in a way that’s gentle and collaborative. Areas for which parents often seek help include:

  • Behavior and discipline
  • Toilet mastery
  • Making friends
  • School and grades
  • Self-motivation
  • Bullying
  • Getting along with siblings
  • Bedtime and sleep
  • Anger issues
  • Eating

We also help parents understand and address the developmental challenges associated with major life events over which children have little or no control – things like adoption, divorce or the serious illness of a family member. Whatever questions or concerns your family may have, Hanna Perkins provides support and insight through programs, workshops and one-on-one counseling.

The ability to identify, understand and manage feelings is the foundation self-awareness, empathy and self-esteem – and it must be learned.

Our programs for children feature a calm, emotionally mindful environment where children can have fun, make friends and have new experiences while receiving gentle guidance through the ordinary social interactions around which emotional intelligence is built.
